Learn the fascinating art of screen printing and create your own postcards, T-shirts or bags. The workshop is offered at two levels: in the Basic course, you’ll create stencils and use a squeegee to print your own designs or follow a template. You’re welcome to bring your own T-shirts and fabrics. The advanced course takes things a step further: you’ll work with digitally or manually created templates, expose screens in the darkroom and then print in the studio in daylight. The advanced course requires attendance on two dates (Friday and Saturday). Simply bring your design with you on A4 paper or as a file on a USB stick, and we’ll transfer it onto transparent film for you. Alternatively, you can draw on the spot using ink and film pens, or have it printed directly onto the film. 6 sessions | Basic & Advanced Room 217, Faculty of Architecture, Schinkelstraße 1, Aachen Fri 15 & Sat 16 May | Fri 19 & Sat 20 June | Fri 10 & Sat 11 July Fridays: 4–5 pm | 5–6 pm | 6–7 pm (Advanced) Saturdays: 10 am–12 pm | 12.30–2.30 pm | 3–5 pm (Basic & Advanced) Max. 40 participants per session. June awaits with the longest day and the shortest night
Fun fact: The summer solstice usually falls on June 20 or 21, making it the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. At the summer solstice, the sun travels the longest path through the sky, and that day therefore has the most daylight Aachen gets almost 17 hours of daylight! So step outside and fill up your Vitamin D :-) Sunny greetings from Dominika Lichteveld, Ilayda Özkan and Baran Peltek from the BeBuddy Team! |
