1. RWTH Writing Center - Registration is open for summer semester 2026
The "RWTH Schreibzentrum" (Writing Center) offers diverse courses in both German and English on scientific writing and science communication. You'll find the whole program here. For some of their courses, you will need to provide proof of a certain language level. The registration period for the semester-accompanying courses in the summer semester 2026 will take place from 1. April to 13. April. Registration will take place via your user account at the Language Center. All course timetables can be viewed in RWTHonline. |

2. Support for International First-Year Students
In addition to the social support offered through the BeBuddy program, RWTH provides further guidance for international first-year students through International First-Year workshops and events, offered by Peer Success Coaches employed and trained by the International Office. The international first-year activities focus on academic orientation and study-related support during the first year. Through group sessions and individual consultations, they help students understand academic expectations at RWTH, navigate the German higher education system, and successfully transition from the first to the second semester. 3. RWTH Explained Simply for new international students
Still confused about RWTHonline, Moodle, or course registration? Join our concise and useful intro session. Whether you’re new, late to the semester, or just tired of guessing how RWTH systems work: this session is for you. No prior knowledge required. 4. Group Bike Ride on April 16 - for free, for everyone
The university sports center invites you to take part in a relaxed bike tour around Aachen on April 16, 2026, from 4 to 6pm! You'll explore Aachen at an easygoing pace. This event is a great opportunity to connect with fellow students, make new friends, and share experiences. Whether you’re new to Aachen or just looking to meet friendly faces, all students are welcome! All you need is a bike and a willingness to get moving! The group meets outside the SuperC, on the main forecourt. Register today to reserve your spot! |

5. Study Skills Workshops on Studying and Learning, Exam Anxiety, Motivation, and Personal Development
Through expert instruction and guided discussion in these workshops, you’ll gain new perspectives and practical strategies that you can immediately apply in your daily life. The registration period for all study training courses in 2026 summer semester started on March 23, 2026, at 10am and ends 48 hours before the respective training course begins. 5. AStA proudly presents: Hörsaal Slam on April 16th
You can look forward to a competition between stage poets vying for your favor with their own texts. The slammers have six minutes in each round, and there are no limits on their texts. Whether funny, lyrical, silly, serious, or thoughtful—we'll hear it all, and you decide who wins! The wordy spectacle will be moderated by Oscar Malinowski and Lukas Knoben, the hosts of the monthly Aachen poetry slam “satznachvorn.” Date: Thursday, April 16, 2025 Here, you can buy tickets online. |

Fun Facts: April Fool’s Day in Germany In Germany, April 1st is known as “Aprilscherz” (literally “April joke”). On this day, people play harmless pranks on friends, classmates, or colleagues, just like in many other countries. If someone pranks you today, you might hear: “April, April!”.
